Fires of a Keltic Moon
Lara Zeroun would appear to have it all. She has a wonderful and loving family, a successful career, and above all Fairie powers that allow her to open portals in time. She has crossed through many times and countries, but always alone. She has never been able to find someone to share her worlds with, never found someone to give her heart to. All this changes with one miscalculation. Lara opens a portal further into the past than she intended and puts herself in a time and place where she is drawn to two men.
First, Lara meets Aubrian. He claims to be a simple storyteller, but something about him calls to her most primal feelings. Instead of returning to her time, she makes the significant decision to stay in this unknown time. Lara and Aubrian travel together to the holding of the Mac Dhuibh. There she meets Iain. He is a dark contrast to Aubrian and after just one glance into Iain’s eyes she longs to spend any moment she can with him. Lara is confused by her reaction to the two men. How can she so strongly desire two men?
Iain and Aubrian both wish to develop a deeper relationship with Lara. Iain feels inextricably drawn to Lara’s warmth and beauty. He would like to pursue the connection he feels towards her. However, Iain has no place in his world. He is being sent away from the holding because his is a political threat to the Mac Dhuibh. With no lands or money of his own, the only place for him is the monastery. He tries to fight his attraction to Lara since he has no future to offer her. Aubrian has much darker plans for Lara. To him she is but a game to be won. First he wants to passionately consume her and then he wants to break her spirit. Finally, he wants to use her as a pawn that could destroy all she loves.
As Lara gets to know both men, she comes to love Iain and fear Aubrian, but her feelings towards both men come to late to stop what fate has already put in motion. Aubrian has a secret he will use to try and destroy Lara, Iain, and all else Lara holds dear. Can Lara and Iain find the strength to fight him and stop his evil plan? Can Iain find his belief in magic and what can be and fight for a future with Lara? What will happen when Lara has to open a portal back to her time, will she lose Iain forever?
Fires of the Keltic Moon is the continued saga of the Zeroun family. Lizzie Starr does a remarkable job creating moving and memorable characters. The reader is immediately drawn into the star-crossed love developing between Iain and Lara and the darker demented plans of Aubrian. The reader is kept on the edge of their seat by the twists, turns, and sparks of a well-designed plot. The book is a truly enjoyable read for anyone who enjoys the fight between good and bad and the love that can be found along the way.
