Memoirs of a Young Rakehell
Renaissance E-Books continues its re-issues of classic erotica with a 65 page electronic version of French poet Guillaume Apollinaire’s Memoirs of a Young Rakehell. These sexual memoirs of the poets visit a summerhouse as a young man in the days before World War I.
Written in the first person and sprinkled with descriptions of female body parts that is crude yet somewhat endearing (her c**t, whose form resembled the spilt in an apricot) encounters with bawdy maids. This book is one of the earliest erotic tomes and set the groundwork for imitations, both good and bad. There is a cheerful rite of passage feeling to Rakehell, Victorian and early erotica-perhaps it is the joy of “newness” and discovery. Definitely, recommended for historical reference when creating an erotica for both non-and published authors.
