Detective LeAnne McVeigh is after a murderer. In the small town of Henry County, Ohio, someone is strangling women and leaving very little clues for the Sheriff’s Department to go on. The first woman murdered leads LeAnne straight to Marcus “Snake” Gallego. The woman was his estranged wife and all leads point to him. However, LeAnne isn’t so sure of his guilt. Something doesn’t sit well with her about him being the killer. LeAnne’s suspicions of Snake’s innocence are proven correct when another woman is murdered while Snake is in jail. LeAnne’s willingness to work with and listen to Snake as things get more dangerous and intense in Henry County, doesn’t sit well with her fiancé Chad Baker, the prosecuting attorney. LeAnne feels torn between Snake and Chad. The heat and the feelings that Snake brings out in her terrify her and cause her to second guess her upcoming nuptials to Chad. Can LeAnne resist a man who she shouldn’t be thinking about? Is Snake her only protection against a murderer on the loose?

Marcus “Snake” Gallego may not be the right man for Detective LeAnne McVeigh, but that certainly doesn’t stop him from wishing that she were his. Snake is used to fast bikes, the fast ways of life and fast women. He doesn’t trust easily and likes to be in control at all times. But with LeAnne, he finds himself wishing for things to be different an even considers that he has finally found home…within LeAnne’s arms!

Thrilling comes to mind during and after reading Patricia A. Rasey’s suspense thriller, Kiss of Deceit. With amazing and dynamic characters, prefect crime scenes and the second-guessing over who the bad guy is, this book is superb. In the many years that I have been reading suspense thrillers, only two other authors have wowed me as Ms. Rasey has and those authors, in my opinion, she has bypassed.

The characters in Kiss of Deceit were unlike the ordinary, average characters that we sometimes get. Bikers. What is sexier than a bad boy on a Harley? Snake, his name is deceptive, I must say that. He is tough, powerful, and delicious and at times cold, but even when he is being cold; the air crackles with his electricity. Snake and LeAnne are remarkable together and are the halves of the one whole. LeAnne doesn’t sit back and let Snake take over her life either, definitely not. She gives as good as she gets and then some. Patricia A. Rasey’s writing impresses me with every page written. I have come to also expect the unexpected with her stories.

Nevertheless, the twist she writes threw me for a loop within Kiss of Deceit. I couldn’t believe she would leave me wondering which is why I have to applaud her. It was stunning and delicious and I was anxious to get to the sequel to find out what happened next. Patricia A. Rasey writes suspense thrillers as I have rarely seen before. This author, I have placed at the top of my favorite author list. What more can I really say besides that readers will have to get her books to believe it all.
