The Training of a Concubine
Prince Ulric and his three noblemen have ridden all day on horseback. Afraid for the safety of their horses they decide to stop at Pachenska for the night. A certain peasant catches the Prince’s eye, Molly Danzig. As she serves him, he eyes the beautiful woman with a bit of pride to her. The noblemen begin to get rambunctious with the other female servants. The innkeeper informs the Prince that the women there are virtuous and led him to where the comfort house was. Although he had only met her, the Prince wanted Molly and sent his men to offer her father a rather hefty fee for her. To Molly’s amazement, her father agrees to the sale of his daughter. Molly runs away with the gypsies refusing to be sold like an animal to anyone.
Thinking she is safe with the gypsies, Molly continues on the trip with them not knowing whether she is safe or not. She is finally taken back to the prince and there she starts her training to become a concubine. With Prince Ulric she is taught how to truly please a man in and out of bed. Soon their relationship grows from teacher and student to lovers. Although, Lady Lucretia and some others don't like his newfound love with a peasant and are determined to destroy the love they share. After a near gang rape, Molly is saved by her beloved Prince but the price of love is costly when they must flee to escape death themselves.
The Training of a Concubine is a good love story with many great steamy scenes. Molly is just a likeable character, she is strong willed, a fighter, but has a good heart. Prince Ulric is attracted to Molly from the start, the fact that she is a mere peasant does not bother him. He falls for her fast and his life is changed upon uniting. The story is very enjoyable to read and is definitely a page-turner.
