Alison has been in love with Alex for most of her life. He was her big brother's best friend. Alex and her brother are both cops. They have been best friends for a long time and shared many things including women. Alison is mugged and Alex saves her. They accidentally find themselves in bed and do what comes naturally. Alex is horrified that he bedded Alison. Alison is hurt by his reaction and she decides to take charge of life. She changes everything about herself from her looks to her job. Alex can't get Alison out of his mind but he doesnˇ¦t believe she will be up to the type of sex he desires: very, very rough.

It was fascinating to watch Alison emerge from her cocoon. In the beginning of the book, she was everybody's doormat and then she made a 360 change. She became a self-assured woman who knew what she wanted and went for it. It was a change for the better and the reader applauded her for it. Alex wants the new Alison, heck he wanted the old one too! It was touching to see his apprehension as he realized the changes in Alison.

The sex scenes are not romance and candles but quite forceful so if that is not your cup of tea, you have been warned. The scenes are still erotic and in keeping with what is expected from an Ellora's Cave book. The characters are well drawn and the reader was captivated by them. The author has written another winner!
