Kye awakens in a new land with mythical beings, warriors and beautiful magical maidens. He is only able to speak to an unknown voice and is unable to interact with anyone from this land. The last thing he remembers is watching his wife grieve for him and then move on with his friend on earth…And then he finds the voice and is able to view a new world. He is lost and confused with what has happened to him, but his constant is the voice that seems to know many things about this land and what has befallen Kye. He recognizes nothing of himself, his face, his physical body or the memories he has…they are all someone else’s. What has happened to him? All he knows is he is drawn to this woman who is being tortured and wishes to alleviate her pain and rescue her from these terrible men.
Eiona has waited years for her mate, Rue, only to realize he is an evil and repulsive warrior. She knows her future is tied with him but she will never love him because of his dark and evil soul. Because of this she has made a life of her own and had found satisfaction in being with another and his mate. All that changes when she is murderously taken from the life she created. Beaten, brutalized and dragged across her country she prays for strength and the maturity of her magical power to defeat these evil men. Unfortunately, her prayers are answered by her power coming to fruition, her dragon and by her preordained mate, Rue. Repulsed and angered that her chosen companions were killed and Rue lived to save her, she lashes out at him and her dragon. Failing to heed her dragon when he tells her to look beyond what the eye sees and she will realize Rue has changed.
Will these two stubborn and strong willed people be able to overcome their difference and find some peace? On the other hand, will life’s ironies get the better of them? Can Kye, who is still tied to his past life on earth and the love of his life, his wife Ashlyn, be able to overcome his previous life? Will he forsake this new life for memories of his past? You will definitely have to buy this book to find out.
This reviewer found the book a fantastical odyssey. The author tells of an epic saga of magic and myth, the backbone being the love story between the hero and the heroine. Definitely, recommended for those who enjoy mythical beings and magic with carnal love scenes and adventure. From page one, this reviewer was thrust into the realm of Eiona’s homeland and Kye’s new home. Totally immersed in this story, there was no way to put it down until the end was reached. The attraction and intense emotion between Kye and Eiona constantly simmers in the background during the entirety of this story, while the love scenes practically burn your senses as you read them. Shiloh Walker may be new to the romance scene but she is blazing a trail to reach many readers with her insightful plots and fantastical stories. She is definitely an author of extreme talents that many eager readers will be anticipating each new release anxiously.
