Emerald a young teacher is tricked and kidnapped by several of her trouble making students. They had planned to rape and brutalize her when Reece, another student, rescues her. Emerald had been secretly attracted to Reece but she had ensured she never gave any sign to Reece of this attraction, even though Reece had gone out of his way to flirt and entice her. In the aftermath of Reece freeing and rescuing her, they make love. After the climax, literally, the cops bust in and Reece as well as the other students are arrested. Year’s later Emerald is teaching in a new state, she had been forced to move because of the rumors that had circulated after the trial and guilty verdict of her former students. She still feels guilty that Reece too, had been sent to jail. She had tried to make everyone understand that he had rescued her and the sex had been consensual. But they had all believed she had been deluded or mistaken from her ordeal.

Now Reece shows up and wants to find out if his dreams and memories of Emerald, his ex-teacher, were real. He never forgot about her and she had been on his mind for the past seven years while he had been in prison. He allowed his arrest and prosecution to protect her and he had been protecting her since they had made love. Older, wiser and better prepared to deal with Emerald and tackle her hang-ups about their age he believes they have a future together, and he is not leaving until he gets Emerald.

Unfortunately, even though Emerald and Reece have been through so much already, they have to prepare themselves for more. At the same time Reece shows up several women are murdered under bizarre conditions. They believe it is a continuation of Emerald’s ordeal, what should have happened to her in the past. Only the killer could know the details of her near rape and what possibly would have been her murder. The police gasping for a suspect latch onto Reece and Emerald is dragged into the fray. Will life allow Emerald and Reece to be together?

This reviewer found this book a wonderful read. The older woman and the younger man concept is an old one but never over used and is still a powerful fantasy. This story is a must purchase for those of you who enjoy intense attraction, great mystery and juicy love scenes. From the very first page, this reviewer was pulled into the story and could not stop reading until the end. The physical attraction and sensuality is permeated throughout the story. Having it simmering in the background during all the mystery just makes for a more intense read. Even after the story was finished, this reviewer wanted more. Alas there was none, however, this review will be going out to find other reads by Kimberly Zant. She definitely is an author of extreme talents.
