From Riches To The Zoo

Miranda is a normal popular teenager who has good friends and a life envied by others but from the start, she has all kinds of bad luck from losing her parents in a plane crash to losing her boyfriend. According to the will, she has to start a new life with her Uncle Lewis and Aunt Ellen in Greendale. The place is miles away from her old house and guess what! IT IS A ZOO! She tries to get out but nothing works and she has to go there. In her opinion, a zoo is nothing but fearsome slimy critters and ugly, itchy clothing but she is in for a nice surprise.

When he arrives on the scene, Court doesn't seem a likely candidate to be Miranda's new love interest. He's rude, arrogant and pushy but first impressions can be misleading and it doesn't take long for Miranda to find that there is an attraction between them. As much as she denies the attraction, she can't get him out of her mind.

Miranda learns that she needs to listen to the good advice different people around her offer her. She grows and makes saner decisions amidst family trauma. What happens within this story does indeed seem tragic but the style of writing will captivate you so much that you will want to read this book cover to cover to your children or take it upon yourself to read it.

From Riches To The Zoo is an exciting and cleverly written story full of pain and deep love. Your heart just breaks repeatedly for Miranda and the torment she endures. Then your heart will swell up when you read the compassion and love her family and friends give her to prepare for a fresh start. Ms. Rampages has written a delightful story where her characters are lovable that the reader cannot help but fall in love with them. She makes you laugh and takes you to the point of tears; you will absolutely love the animals. While the book may not be appropriate, for children eight years old and under, this reviewer thinks children above that age and young adults can appreciate this kind of outlandish misfortune for what it is.
