Amy had been raised in a very strict Catholic household, which has lead to her being a very repressed young woman. She believes she is in love with Billy, the man she gave her virginity to. However, once Billy decides he wants to ease off seeing each other, Amy feels as if he is leaving her. During this transition Amy meets Nathan a new tenant in her apartment building. Nathan a four hundred year old vampire is seeking something to relieve him of his current boredom. He sees Amy and something in her calls to him. He decides to help her by freeing her inhibitions. Nathan believes if he can tutor her they would each get something out of the bargain without anyone getting hurt. However he doesn’t count on his emotional response to her, or vice-versa. How do they untangle themselves from their pact once it has started?

This book was a very good read. It is packed with much sexual tension and the love scenes are very sensual and erotically extreme. These characters deal with many big instances of personal conflict and how the author chose to deal with them is very inventive and surprising. This reviewer found this book to be written with much thought and a parallel to real life. When reading the story the emotions of the characters carry over into the reader, which amplifies the story to a greater level. The ending was unexpected and a huge surprise. Ms. Parks is a talented and imaginative author.
