Persephone "Perse" Jones lived a simple life. She was a natural born Herbalist running the Mt. Olympus Natural Healing Center. She lived alone with her cat and drove an old pick up truck. Yes, her life was pretty day-to-day routine. After losing the love of her life in a car accident she, buried her pain by helping others to rid their own pain. Then she meets Jason Brooks, a lawyer dead set in his ways and a work hound. From the start they ignite a spark in eachother but neither want to set the fire in fear of their painful pasts. Jason's ex-wife left him for his partner leaving him with a rebellious teenage daughter, Val, and a drunken mother, Ruth. Perse and Val hit it off from the start and the relationship between the two leads to more encounters with Jason. When the town gets split over the possibility of a Hog Farm, Perse and Jason find yet another reason to argue. But the passion and the fire are there and they know it. Perse wants to love again, she wants to be loved completely and Jason doesn't, but he she makes him a better man and he knows it.
All the wrong things seem to keep them apart; they are both from two different worlds and both have different ideals on love. When the ex-wife shows up, Perse is once again unsure of what is happening to her and why. Can they get over the extras and see the love inside?
This was a good romantic book filled with laughter, love, suspense, and friendship. It had all the emotions needed to make a good read. I thoroughly enjoyed Ms. Taylor's book. It warmed the insides and was just real, where so many books are just getting so far fetched. It's great to know there are still romantics out there. The characters were well described and fit in together. I enjoyed it and look forward to more by this wonderful author.
