Vilia was not supposed to be listening, she was not even supposed to know about the portal but she had been listening. She knew that every fourteenth year the Portal opened for four days and four nights. Being only a child she was curious about this portal. Moreover, what lied on the other side? Sneaking away from her uncle, she went through it.
On the other side, she meets Trevor and his dog Patch. Captivated by the world around and new friends she wants to see more but hears her name be called. She takes off but her memory stays with Trevor. Fourteen years later Vilia has not forgotten Trevor and longs to see him. Nevertheless, she is locked up, her Uncle concerned for her future will not grant her the right to leave the portal. She would die on earth. She sends her brother Alain to meet with him, to make sure he is there. True to his word, he is and he brought his little sister. Alain soon falls for Rianna as Trevor did for Vilia. Now that Vilia finds Trevor, again can she keep him? Can she stay with the man she loves?
This is a story of a love not meant to be. Vilia, a fairy, is in love with a human and everything goes against them. Trevor, a human, is in love with someone he cannot have. However, nothing can stop love and these two will not let anything get in their way. It's very light hearted and a whimsical romance.
