Till Hell Freezes Over

Erica Merrill has started her new veterinarian clinic in the town she was raised in. Erica is hoping that everyone will eventually see her as Dr. Merrill, instead of Hugh Merrill's daughter. She's not too pleased when she receives the call from Herb Shultz. He needs her to treat his dog, but he doesn't have a good track record when it comes to paying his vet bills. He owes her money already, but she agrees to go to his place anyway, knowing she couldn't let the dog suffer. The animals came first.

Clay Caldwell, deputy sheriff, has a murder to solve. Eugene Pettijohn is dead, and Herb Shultz is the only suspect they have. It doesn't look good for Herb, considering the fact that he found Eugene's body and then milked the cow before calling the police. Herb maintains his innocence, but there's only one set of footprints in the snow. Can Clay solve the mystery of the footprints?

Erica may not care for Herb, but she believes he's innocent. Erica soon learns, though, that defending Herb isn't good for her new business. Determined to get to the bottom of who killed Eugene, and why, Erica decides to do a little investigating on her own.

Till Hell Freezes Over is a good "who done it" story. Erica finds herself in the middle of an investigation, looking for proof to free a man she doesn't really like. Clay is good at his job and sets out to prove the facts, regardless of who gets implicated. Can they find the guilty party before it is too late? While it was sometimes hard to keep up with all of the characters, all in all Till Hell Freezes Over was a good read.
