Once Upon a Blind Date

When Maggie decides that her best friend, Dominic, needs a wife, she knows just the way to find one, computer dating. She tackles the prospect of finding the perfect woman with the same zeal that she applies to her life. She finds the perfect woman for him, Julie. Julie's best friend, Charlie, thinks it is time for her to get out and meet some new men. After some cajoling, he signs her up for a dating service. Together they wade through the duds and weirdoes and find Dom. It looks like a perfect match.

Maggie and Charlie decide that since it was their idea, they owe it to their friends to go with them on the first date. When Julie and Dom meet, the sexual sparks fly; but they are flying between Charlie and Maggie. How can this be happening? Maggie is in a long distance relationship with a wonderful man. Why does a kiss from the testosterone laden Charlie stir her blood and boggle her mind until she is at a loss for words. Even as Charlie is kissing her, he is thinking she is beautiful, obnoxious, and just like the fiancé that left him at the altar; he doesn't need another woman like her in his life.

It would seem that fate has other plans, for neither Charlie nor Maggie can so quickly put aside the heated memory of that one kiss. As they conspire to get Dom and Julie together, their paths continue to cross and their desires are much harder to ignore. Charlie and Maggie finally give in to the passion between them, but is passion enough? Maggie has her life all planned out and Charlie does not fit into her plans. Is she willing to take a chance on someone who makes his living touting the merits of being single? Charlie may want Maggie, but he also wants his freedom and some good doughnuts. He likes his life how it is; his timeline, his goals, and no-one trying to change him. Can these two lovers find a common ground?

Once Upon a Blind Date had me laughing from the first page. The antics of the four main characters were delightful to watch. Maggie and Charlie were especially entertaining. They are two very determined and unique individuals, but you know what they say about opposites attracting. Readers will be captivated by the humorous dialogue and by the not-so-smooth journey of these two contrary lovers. A definite must read if you like a little laughter with your romance.
