Loving Ben
Katherine MacCrae is a journalist and is none too happy about her next assignment interviewing photojournalist Ben Forrester. Ben had been engaged to Katherine's sister, Anna, and Katherine had fallen in love with him. Ben left six months prior, within weeks of Anna's disappearance, leaving Katherine devastated and full of guilt. Can she actually go through with this interview? She has so many unanswered questions, but what will it cost her heart to face Ben again? Ben is not the only one holding back information. Can she tell him what he needs to know?
Ben likes his privacy, so he's not pleased with someone interviewing him, especially when he finds out who the interviewer is. He still wants Katherine as much as he did in the beginning. He's full of regret about leaving the way he did, but isn't that what she wanted? He thought so, until he sees her and the anguish in her eyes. He never told Katherine the truth about his engagement to her sister, but it's time she found out; then maybe she can let go of the guilt that's been eating at her. Ben soon finds out that it's not only guilt that put the sadness in Katherine's eyes.
Loving Ben is a remarkable story. Jan Janssen did a great job at creating characters that you can relate to. As you see the yearning and desire between then, you hope that Ben and Katherine can find a way to overcome the past. The reader waits anxiously to see whether they can admit all the things they have kept secret so they can hopefully forgive and start fresh. Loving Ben is my first Jan Janssen story I'm looking forward to reading more books by this author!
