Tempest was born on Niah, but her parents are from Earth. Her parents died from a disease they had no resistance to. Tempest, her brother, and a friend leave the colony, but along the way her brother and friend pass away. She is left alone. She finds shelter in a cave but then a man appears.
Kiran is a Niahian. He is on a mission. He must find Storm, the one who commands the elements. They must go to the sacred temple of Zoe and join at the sacred altar. Only then they could bring forth the rain to make their planet green again. Kiran mistakens(mistakes) Tempest for a boy at first(,) but that impression is soon corrected. He allows Tempest to join him and they venture forth together towards the unknown.
This was a fast and enthralling read. Kiran and Tempest are an enjoyable couple. They jump off the pages and the reader is pulled into their story. Tempest is a feisty and stubborn heroine. She is a survivor. Kiran is the ideal hero. He is everything a woman could want: handsome, honorable, and loyal. Due to his mission, he must stay "pure" but oh, how Tempest tempts him! These two characters sizzle throughout the book.
The author has created a fascinating new world. It is a world where water/rain is a precious commodity. A world inhabited by two rival groups, the Mordune and the Zoeans. The author has done a fine job of explaining how the population of Niah evolved and provided a satisfactory ending to the story. If you enjoy romance books with a sci-fi twist, this book is for you.
