Hot August Nights

A sister always looks out for her little sister. Therefore, when Tannie Hogan finds out that her little sister is gone and married to boot to a man she knows is no good, Tannie seeks help. She never thought that the help will come in the form of a sexy, hot-tempered man such as Bax Dixon. The only thing she knows about Bax is that he used to work with the man her sister married. A woman like Tannie has only one task to accomplish: to find her sister before she does another stupid thing. As she confides in Bax about her ordeal, she never thought it would lead to an adventure as they search to find her sister. Nor did she think it would lead to discovering the reason why Bax was accused of murder.

Bax Dixon is the baddest, meanest man that Tannie has ever seen. He's seen, been and lived with women who are the complete opposite from Tannie's appearance. He thought she was another reporter trying to get his story so she could turn it into trash like all the sleazy reporters have done. He doesn't know why he was accused of murder. He only knows that he is innocent. Tannie says she is searching for her sister, but during the adventure something happens to Bax. Somehow she has gotten under his skin totally confusing him and making him protective of her. Hard to believe this bad-ass man comes to care for a pure, generous and honest person such as Tannie Hogan. Only question is once the adventure is done what will happen between them?

The latest by Ms. Starr will not only steam up your nights but also make you cheer for Tannie and Bax Dixon. To a reader these two are opposites one another, but to this reviewer you can see the sparks flying through the pages. The sex scenes between them are like spontaneous combustion exploding between each page as you continue reading. She is a woman just looking out for her sister and feels miserable that she didn't see this man tricking her sister into marriage. Now she goes to a stranger for help not knowing whether she is the one who needs help. Ms. Starr talent shines throughout this story and she has created two characters worth reading. They both hated each other in the beginning but eventually, when given the chance, even a woman as good as Tannie can tame a dangerous and sexy as sin man like Bax on a Hot August Night.
