A New Year's Bite

When Terra came to Nathan seemingly depressed, he took it upon himself to help her in any way he could. Even if it meant teaching her new beau a lesson in the art of making love to a woman. Unfortunately, that was an easy solution to only part of her problem. Terra was a detective on the case of a serial killer targeting young woman. Nicknamed the Slasher, there had been no leads so far. With her career and lives on the line, she needed a break in the case to get the murderer off the streets.

After a passionate night of teaching his mortal friends the finer points of erotic intimacy, Nathan was on his way home when he caught the scent of freshly spilled blood. Following his senses, he came upon a young woman just murdered by the sinister killer. With his gift of sight, he was able to see the murderer from the viewpoint of the unfortunate woman. He could now put a face on the Slasher. However, when the police show up when he is alone with the body, they believe he is the real murderer. Will Terra be able to prove her friend's innocence and find the one truly responsible for the ghastly crimes?

Just 96 pages, this is a very quick read. But oh, what a read! This hot story is one that will keep you glued to you computer until the last page is finished. With sex that is steamy, you will want your significant other nearby. Not much of a plot since it is such a short book, but the writing is wonderful. You get a great sense of the characters in the short time you are with them. This is one in a series of books featuring the vampire Nathan. Not having read any of the others, I did not feel lost in the reading. Ms. Parks gave just enough hints about the previous books to make you want to click your way quickly to buy the others. Which this reviewer did! This is a perfect story for those wanting a quick read for their lunch hour.
