SLEEPING OAKS
Only a couple more hours and Emma Browning will host the Grande Ball and bring a time of merriment and partying back to Sleeping Oaks. Emma is a busy woman who has not had the pleasure of meeting that special man. Her mission has been to bring Sleeping Oaks back to life, to see it back to it's formal glory and feel that sense of peace. Everything is in place at least she thought it was until her assistant, Susan finds a missing object from their inventory: a mirror. Not just any mirror, which wasn't even in the inventory, but one that somehow transports Emma to the 18th century during the night of the Grande Ball. One minute, Emma was looking in the mirror, and the next she is looking into the eyes of a man who astounds her. Is it a dream or reality?
Devon Chandler is a man who had to work to get where he is now. Growing up he never knew love or experienced it as a youth. Seeing Emma Browning brings back memories of youth and the possibilities of love. She says she is from 2004, but he could hardly believe such an outlandish tale as hers. Each day with her, he questions whether she is telling the truth of being brought here to bring him down. He wasn't always known as Devon Chandler but also as Captain Swan pirate of the Black Swan. Years of scourging the waters and robbing the rich, he saved to own a plantation of his own. Now with this beautiful stranger, he feels danger close by not only to his reputation but also to his heart. Obstacles arise each time these two characters try to profess their love, making Devon more unsure of whether all the things Emma has said is true or just lies. Can a man as Devon get a woman as Emma to love him? Can a woman from the future make a man as he love her?
