Lilane is after revenge. Her family and fiancé was massacred during the Nordanese-Sudhraian war. She wants to kill a Sudhraian and her target is Lord Rue d'Ange. Unfortunately, her plan didn't pan out as she was captured by Rue instead. Rue wants Lilane and he has a plan to use her to his advantage. Rue has Aviat blood running through him and his primary loyalty is to the Aviat.
Lilane is a woman driven by her anger and anguish. She wants someone to pay for the suffering endured by her and her family. She is tenacious and brave. Rue has also known suffering but above all, the fate of his people is important to him. Over the course of the book, Lilane becomes important to him and he feels an intense connection with her.
The author has created a world filled with new races and cultures. At the first reading, it was difficult to keep the different races straight in the reader's mind. The reader has to go over it several times before it became clear. This book felt like a sequel or part of a series of books. However, once that was accomplished, it was a fast read. The author has written a highly erotic tale filled with many different sexual situations. The storyline is filled with intrigue and some very likable secondary characters. This world includes the master/slaves relationships thus providing for many erotic situations between the two. Therefore, if you are looking for something unique to read Summer Pleasures should fit the bill nicely.
