Too Close For Comfort

Corey Evans, a famous baseball player, is being stalked by a fan, the price of fame catching up with him. Corey's fame has left him jaded and cynical about everything, especially women.

Shelby Allen is hired to protect him. She's not interested in Corey as a man and only takes the job because she needs the money. Her sister has major gambling debts and Shelby wants to help her. Shelby's had a previous bad relationship with an athlete and isn't interested in repeating that mistake with Corey.

Corey and Shelby do their best not to like each other but they are fighting a losing battle. Their attraction to each other just gets stronger the longer they are together. As they are pulled together by the force of attraction and the harder Shelby tries to resist the more the reader knows she will succumb.

Too Close for Comfort by Lisa Renee Jones is a highly enjoyable read. Corey doesn't come across as the stereotypical "dumb jock". He is a bright and sensitive man who knows what he wants. Shelby is independent, feisty and very loyal. She is at war with her own emotions and physical desires. These two light up the pages of this book. From their verbal sparring to the action between the sheets - it was all entertaining and seductive to watch. The reader is drawn in by the two lead characters and the mystery aspect of the storyline. This is the reviewer's first taste of Ms. Jones' writings and she hopes it won't be the last.
