Prophecy Volume 2: Rapture

I was greatly anxious to read Prophecy Volume 2: Rapture after reading the first, Revelations. The saga is continued in Rapture with Kyla, Joe, Gram and the rest of the chosen protectors getting ready to face evil. Can Kyla fulfill the Prophecy she was chosen for?

Kyla Keating never understood why she was the prophet chosen to save many lives, but she steps up to the life-threatening challenge and lays her heart and her life on the line. If Kyla and her friends fail this dire situation, all will be lost and their battle would be for naught. The connection Joe and Kyla have formed is stronger than ever and really the only stability either has right now. What is the Prophecy and how can it be stopped? Is Kyla really the only one who can conquer it? Can Kyla win the toughest battle of her life?

Brenna Lyons returns with the long-awaited sequel to Prophecy Volume 1: Revelations with Rapture, Volume 2. Never have I seen characters as strong as the ones in this story. Kyla, Joe, Gram, Eric, Jason, Liz, Matt, Molly and even Detective Leo Waters are all hero/heroines in this series. Each supersedes the normal hero/heroine roles by surpassing what is expected, stepping up and fighting for what they believe in. And who is to say that the "religion" they fight for in this tale is the right or wrong one? Prophecy is not necessarily only about the religion that threatens their lives and Ms. Lyons pens this tale of faith, love, dreams and choices with a sure hand. While most would turn away from a tale where religion plays a factor, Ms. Lyons sweeps the reader in and makes them care so much about the characters that it is impossible to walk away unaffected. This sequel was intense, exciting and in one word, unique. Very rarely do we see the aftermath of something this horrific. The battle that the characters fought was full of consequences, pain and suffering, and it was interesting that there was still so much story afterwards and that Ms. Lyons wrote of the aftermath that Kyla, Joe and the others had to face.

A strong suggestion from one reader to many, is to read Prophecy: Revelations before Rapture, just so that all the characters are familiar and the past is also something readers can understand. Plus the whole experience of reading volumes one and two together makes the Prophecy series all the more enjoyable and breathtaking.Raptureis for any type of readers; there is romance, psychic phenomenon, action and adventure and intrigue. There is so much for any reader to enjoy and be amazed by. I know that I have been seriously impressed by the power and the imagination of Brenna Lyons words. This sequel was all I had hoped it to be and more! The Prophecy series, Revelations and Rapture are destined for keeper shelves everywhere and most certainly not to be missed!
